SOMETHING NEVER THOUGHT YOU'D BE PART OF 2010

A video performance by Edwin Stolk, part of a collaboration with artist Loek Grootjans and the Sandberg Institute.

"This performance I made in the staircase of the apartment building where I live. With my photo camera I recorded myself using the staircase in a different than usual way.

The staircase is mainly used by the inhabitants of the block in the morning to go to their work and in the evening when they return home. Mostly young single people live here. In the meantime, during the day, the space is unused. So basically the whole space is available for moving in and out of the house twice a day.

My interest goes out to the function of spaces and alternative use of particular spaces.

This is one of the reasons why I started to exhibit this video on Facebook walls of museums and other art institutions. To question the physical white cube spaces, with their walls on the internet.

SOMETHING NEVER THOUGHT YOU'D BE PART OF 2010 is shown at the following art institute's or art related initiatives their virtual spaces on Facebook."
